Shepherd's House is a prayer ministry in Pasadena that has a fairly long history. It began about 25-30 years ago with a staff of professional counselors including Jim Wilder (who is the current director) and Jane Willard (wife of Dallas Willard). They developed a comprehensive model (called the "Life Model") that describes how God designed humans to grow up and mature and live well. It includes developmental considerations as well as restorative measures, including inner healing pryer. If the need for deliverance comes up, that can be dealt with, but that is not the focus. It is a fairly holistic model, and as such avoids a lot of the problems that more narrowly focused ministries run into. The Life Model has been translated into multiple languages, and has been distributed by other ministries that have found it helpful as well, including Elijah House and YWAM. They currently have five prayer ministers on staff in addition to Jim (who is on an indefinite sabbatical writing books).
